Cierra Crudup’s love for baking began at the tender age of 11. Her mother, a cook, often had young Cierra in the kitchen. Though reluctant at first, Cierra found her calling when volunteering to bake a cake for her Great Uncle’s funeral. She nailed it, and soon the requests came pouring in.
The First Steps
When Cierra was 19, she decided to put her skills to the test. She advertised a Thanksgiving special and received 27 orders. The response was overwhelming, and this marked the first significant step toward what would become Delicious Sweets Bake Shop.
Cierra’s journey wasn’t straightforward. While studying social work at SVSU, she worked various jobs and continued baking on weekends and holidays. In 2018, Cierra felt a nudge from God to pursue her baking full-time. She had only $62 in her account when she quit her job.
